Three Little Orphans Part 3: Feivel kitten
emopuppypirate says: Feivel was found in a cardboard box with his siblings, Wolfe and Wesley. There was a note attached saying their mother had died, along with a plea for someone to take care of them. I foster for the humane society, so they called me and I took them all in and began to feed and care for them. Feivel, or "Monkey" as we call him, had to be tube-fed as he was too weak to suck the bottle. Now he's eating canned food like a big boy. He's still teeny tiny, though. His favorite things to do are climb upholstered chairs, swat around sparkly mylar balls, and sit on my lap and play with my hair :) He got his name from An American Tail because he is tiny and looks like a mouse, especially Feivel, the mouse from that movie. Feivel has a forever home -- with us!

Three Little Orphans Part 2: Wesley kitten
emopuppypirate says: Wesley is a sweet little grey-and-white kitten who was found in a cardboard box with his siblings. There was a note attached saying their mother had died, along with a plea for someone to take care of them. I volunteer for the humane society, so they asked if I could bottle-feed them, which I did for the next six weeks. Wes is my "sensitive" child and has always liked to cuddle. He's the only one who always purrs at me when I pick him up -- always. He can be in the middle of playing with his brothers and I'll pick him up and he'll purr at me. Kind of like he's saying, the "Hey, mom." lol He was the first to do everything like eat solid food, walk, and use the litterbox. He enjoys sparkly toys and gets angry at me for taking them to clean. Wes will be available for adoption through the Helotes Humane Society in Texas once he has been neutered and is healthy. (Like Wolfie, Wes is currently getting over a bad case of ringworm, but he'll be better in no time!) To fill out an application, please go to the shelter's Web site.

Three Little Orphans Part 1: Wolfe kitten
emopuppypirate says: Wolfe is a sweet little grey tabby who was found in January in a cardboard box with his siblings. There was a note attached saying their mother had died, along with a plea for someone to take care of them. I foster for the humane society, so they called me, asking if I could bottle-feed them. And that's what I did, for the next six weeks. Wolfey was the hardest to wean as he was definitely attached to his bottle... : ) He's off it now and eating canned food like a big boy. He likes dry crunchy food too. He's always been the big boy and he's very independent. He's got "stuff to do." He's a funny little guy, and he responds to "Woof-Woof" and "Wolfey" before he'll respond to "Wolfe." He will be available for adoption through the Helotes Humane Society in Texas once he has been neutered and is healthy. (He is currently getting over a bad case of ringworm; it even got his poor baby face. :( But he'll be better in no time!) To fill out an application, please go to the shelter's Web site.

Nimbus kitten
Brittany says: I met Nimbus on March 26, 2009, a few hours after he made his debut in the world. He was born to the neighborhood cat Patches whom I cared for before and after she had her litter of seven kittens. All of them were wonderfully sweet and I loved them very much but couldn’t take one for myself due to already having many other animals. Everything changed the more I got to know little OK as I called him, short for Orange Kitty. Once all his brothers and sisters were gone I was left with this little orange kitten I just couldn’t give up. Obviously I ended up keeping him and giving him his official name of Nimbus.

A few of Nim’s favorite things are sleeping in the sunshine, eating, sleeping some more only in weird positions, trying to sneak people food, loving his people, watching birds, sleeping near the fan on my laptop, playing with paper bags, and hanging out with his friends -- fellow kitty PC, dog Nila and guinea pig Ringo. He loves dog food and birthday cake ice cream no matter how much I scold him for sneaking it. He has an entire basket full of toys but he refuses to play with any except the little furry mice. Those are his favorite! He also enjoys being the focus of my photography. He’s one of my favorite subjects to photograph in the entire world.

It’s fun to think about all the ways Nimbus has grown. He’s the craziest, hungriest, loudest purring, most orange, most skittish, most playful cattiest cat I’ve ever owned in my entire life. Sometimes I question what I was thinking when I decided to keep him when he goes on with his crazy shenanigans like sneaking butter from a tub and jumping at my legs every time I pass by the couch. It’s moments like when I walk through the door and he’s standing there waiting on me that I know why. He is full of love and energy and makes everyone that meets him laugh. He brings chaos as well as joy into my life with everything he does.
