A few of Nim’s favorite things are sleeping in the sunshine, eating, sleeping some more only in weird positions, trying to sneak people food, loving his people, watching birds, sleeping near the fan on my laptop, playing with paper bags, and hanging out with his friends -- fellow kitty PC, dog Nila and guinea pig Ringo. He loves dog food and birthday cake ice cream no matter how much I scold him for sneaking it. He has an entire basket full of toys but he refuses to play with any except the little furry mice. Those are his favorite! He also enjoys being the focus of my photography. He’s one of my favorite subjects to photograph in the entire world.
It’s fun to think about all the ways Nimbus has grown. He’s the craziest, hungriest, loudest purring, most orange, most skittish, most playful cattiest cat I’ve ever owned in my entire life. Sometimes I question what I was thinking when I decided to keep him when he goes on with his crazy shenanigans like sneaking butter from a tub and jumping at my legs every time I pass by the couch. It’s moments like when I walk through the door and he’s standing there waiting on me that I know why. He is full of love and energy and makes everyone that meets him laugh. He brings chaos as well as joy into my life with everything he does.
Bea says: Mushu was born to a stray cat on September 11, 2008. I rescued her from the streets when she was very little, about eight weeks or so. I already had a dog at home, a Siberian husky named Luna, and I was a little afraid something would happen, but since Luna was pregnant at the time, she accepted Mushu instantly, even nursing her and everything!!!! Mushu is very independent, like all cats, and her favorite thing in the world is to jump!!! She loves to climb on shoulders, like a large furry parrot, and now that she has a new little sister in the house (another stray kitten named Lola) they spend the whole day running from one end of the house to the other. There's no rest in this house. :D
Milo, the boy (named after the hero in Norton Juster's The Phantom Tollbooth), is now a very confident explorer of the big wide world. He's very affectionate and can always be relied upon to either get helpfully in the way of whatever we're doing or provide hours of entertainment by simply purring at us. He loves his mouse toy that my wife made. But his favorite thing is the front door.
