Russ says: Shii-chan is more like a dog than a cat. When he was a kitten he would cry in the house if we took the dogs for a walk without him, so we got him his own leash and took him for walks with the dogs. You can do almost anything with him -- dress him up, carry him around, etc. -- and he does not mind. In the summer we let him out in the backyard with the dogs. My daughter can call him and he comes running back in. Unlike the dogs, we can't keep him off the counters and out of the food. No amount of training seems to help and we have tried just about everything. He does not like most of the things we do to correct him, but he always comes back for more as soon as we turn our backs. Baggage handlers dropped him in his kennel while loading him onto the plane when we brought him home. Perhaps there was some permanent brain damage that prevents learning. Plus there is that odd chirping sound he makes when he sees birds outside. Who knows?
He is obviously intelligent, not brain damaged. he chooses not to obey or 'learn'! And many cats 'chirp' when they see birds, my theory is they mimic or imagine eating the bird!!
We had a little seal-point kitten who used to climb screens the same way he's climbing the window. She tried teaching her baby siblings how to do it, but none of them were interested.
OMG, these would have to be some of the most gorgeous photos I have ever seen! Climbing on counters? Mmn, think I'd probably forgive that face anything!
Well, he certainly knows how to make friends, mine is very much like a dog too - when i call him he comes, when i go for a walk he comes too, as for climbing on counters, well mine sits now at the table with us and begs just a like dog. So he really is a dog at heart.....what with that face of contentment....you just have to look at this picture and know instantly he's one of them lol!!!
Ohhhhhhh! He is absolutely adorable! I can't pick my favourite pic, they are all so wonderful. He is such a photogenic boy. I must say though, he does seem to have a thing for the dishes doesn't he? As I notice he's photographed by them quite a few times. Just a comment :-)
Gorgeous kitty. Looks like my Angel. The chirping sound he makes when he sees a bird is common in cats. And Siamese are very vocal. Gotta love our fury friends!
He's a handsome boy! And, I agree that cats 'choose' to learn, just like they 'choose' to listen! That is what sets him apart from his canine companions. Wonderful photos of him and his fuzzy friends. :-)

Not only a very handsome cat, but very well done pictures. Great lighting all round.
Cats chirp all the time, sounds cool; as far as keeping your purr ball off the counters, forget it unless you use double face scotch tape, they don't like it and will get off.
He is just beautiful, and smart. Why, you eat off these dishes, why shouldn't he do the same? Anyway, just a fine spray of water from a plant mister works wonders as a deterrant for countertop predators! He will learn quickly. Happy Day!
I can put all controversy to rest, Shii-chan is definitely a Ragdoll. Also, he has figured out the spray water bottle. He closes his eyes and stares into the spray. With enough water, like the tap, he will leave the counter, but he always comes back for more.
Sooo sweet! I love him! He sounds so much like my late cat Andrew - half Ragdoll, half Siamese. Always into things, participated in everything we did. Shii-chan and the rest of your fur family are gorgeous!
one of the most beautiful kitten faces I've ever seen!! love those blue eyes. : )

My ragdoll, Buddy, is pretty much the same. Chirps at birds, thinks he's a dog, and stares directly into a spray bottle. I ADORE HIM! ;-)

Shii-chan is just too handsome; some of the best photos I've seen. Love him with the dogs; how lovely. I've had many cats and they all have special chirps reserved just for bird sightings.
I love his friendship with his dog brothers.Such a cutie. He looks like a little rascal. My ragdoll does the chirping at the birds, which is very funny.

Yep, sounds like a ragdoll to me! He's gorgeous and you can't blame the baggage handler's for the way he is! He's perfect the way he is!
